Lately

Life has been crazy!  David has been traveling so much over the past month.  I have 3 little girls, a house and work to take care of so unfortunately the blog has been pushed aside.

I feel like the girls are growing up so fast!  Mia is talking more and more.  She is fake sneezing which is hilarious.  She is also becoming a daddy's girl more and more by the day.  Mia is so attached to David it truly  blows my mind.  It's like one day she woke up and realized he was her favorite (of course I'm having a hard time with that).  She is such a big girl now with all that she is doing.  I'm really sad to see our last baby growing up so quickly but at the same time I'm looking forward to things to come.
Olivia is definitely 2.  She is really starting to show us her defiant side which I'm having a hard time with as well.  Olivia has always been such a sweet child so when she talks back to me I'm not sure how to respond. I've never really had to discipline her.  Olivia always does what is asked of her.  I guess it only took 2 1/2 years for her to realize she has a say in some stuff ;).  A brief story that I want to document that reflects how sweet Olivia is - last week I had a cut on my toe that required a band-aid.  My little Olivia actually told me she wanted to kiss it to make it better.  She told me not to worry because it would get better soon...as long as I didn't touch it.  How sweet is that??!!!  I could just eat her up!
Sophia...oh Sophia.  This child is so incredibly smart and already very talented with drawing.  Not only does she write her own name but her sister's too.  The math work she is doing at school is amazing.  Personality wise Sophia is just like me.  She is always on the go and never wants to sit still.  She is also a perfectionist when it comes to things around the house.  She always wants to make sure everything is in order and even makes her bed the way I do.
I can't even explain the love I have for these adorable little girls.

Lill came in this past weekend and had fun with the girls.  I love this picture of her with Mia.

Our Super STAR

Sophia was selected to be the Star Student at her school. To say she was excited would be an understatement.  I was just as excited for her.  Last week was really rough with David being in China (again) and she didn't do as well this trip as the last.  I think it's finally taking a toll on her so this was a nice way to end her week.

Congrats Sophia!  You're always our Super STAR :)

Grandpa

David's grandfather passed away on Sunday, April 7th.  I've delayed this post in hopes that David would post something instead.  I've only known Juan for the past 5 years so I probably can't go into that much detail about him.  From what I learned I can tell you that he was a very funny man, strong willed, extremely talented and he loved his wife very much.  He adored our daughters and got so excited when he saw them.  Juan had some serious heart problems over the past couple of years and it finally gave out at the age of 90.  I know he had a good life and is resting peacefully now.  That being said we are going to miss him deeply.  I'm sorry that my girls won't come to know this silly man that hugged and loved on them every time he saw them.

We'll always love you abuelo!

Friday Date Night

This is something that I really hope becomes a trend for the Rodriguez house.  We picked the girls up, had dinner at Chick-fil-A, enjoyed snow cones (first one of the year) and then it was movie time.  I'm really enjoying these special evenings with my little girls.

Mia has learned a new trick of wiping her mouth

And then eating the napkin ;)

What kid wouldn't enjoy bubble gum/ cotton candy flavor

Movie tonight was Up.  The girls enjoyed popcorn and M&Ms of course.

What a perfect end to a long week :)

Fun baking

Believe it or not I really enjoy cooking.  Given the chance to make a meal or make dessert I would always choose dessert.  Hands down!  Today I found a recipe for what is supposed to be the best M&M cookies out there.  I really loved the idea of making these from scratch.  I got all the ingredients together and put Sophia and Olivia to work ;).

The girls had fun making these.  The dough isn't really easy to manage so I had to put them on the cookie sheets.  By time they were done cooking the girls were already in bed.  David got to try one (or 2 ;)) and thinks they're really good.  This batch made a ton of cookies!  The girls teachers will be enjoying some tomorrow as well ;)

Happy Wednesday!

Easter and a little bit of everything else

This weekend the girls enjoyed a lot of time with their Abuela and Opa Jakob.  We did an Easter egg hunt on Saturday.  My mom and niece came over to join in the fun.

Maddison, Sophia and Olivia acting silly.  Mia preferred coloring

All 4 girls enjoying a snack after all that hard work searching for eggs.

Mia is starting her princess career early

On Sunday I made quiche with spinach.  We were all surprised that Mia and Olivia enjoyed them so much

I got Mia some new sandals which she is enjoying

Olivia got some new pjs from her Abuela.  We took this picture and sent it to David while he was gone

The girls got these cool lunch boxes from David's latest trip

We are so happy to have David home!
